Welcome! On these pages I would like to tell you about my work.

My studies were social work and pedagogics. I started working with juveniles and their families  and my jobs were various: social worker, mentor, foster parent coordinator and family guardian.

In 1995 I started to work with refugees and asylum seekers. They had shelter in a hotel and it was my job to accompany and guide them. Part of my job was to arrange the lessons where they could learn the Dutch language. This was a great job and besides they learned the language, we had a lot of fun! After this job I worked for some time in an international school, again to teach the Dutch language to students.

In 2009 I started to do this as a freelancer. I started teaching Dutch as a second language (we call this NT2) to all kind of people: people who are in the Netherlands for a short while, people who want to stay here, people who only work here, people who want to get the Dutch nationality. Not only do I teach Dutch, I also teach the Dutch culture and history. Besides Dutch I teach other subjects. Some are directly related to a profession, some are more general like math.

I have to attend school too. I did lately several courses and studies. I did “Tools4you”: with this certificate I am allowed to coach juvenile delinquents to stay out of trouble. I am a certificated assessor and examiner and with my diploma BVE (Education for professionals and adults) I am completely qualified to teach.
